I started it chasing that feeling — the one you get standing somewhere extraordinary, wondering how you got so lucky, and wanting to bring people along with you. So when I found out I came in 3rd place for Best Self-Published Travel Blog from the Travel Media Association of Canada — I felt proud, yes. But mostly I felt grateful. Grateful for the readers. The fellow creators who became real friends. The destinations that trusted us to tell their story well. The family who came along for every muddy trail and early sunrise.

The 2024 national conference of the Travel Media Association of Canada (TMAC) attracted unprecedented interest from 260 delegates from across Canada and beyond to St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador from June 12th to 16th, 2024, culminating in an Awards Gala celebrating the judged best stories of 2023 authored by Canadian accredited travel media creators. The Awards further recognized the professionalism of destination industry members and acknowledged the dedication of volunteer members that lead the association.

On Friday Oct 20, 2023 I received one of the most exciting emails of my career. "I am honoured to announce that you are a finalist for this year’s Canadian Tourism Awards (CTA), Presented by Toronto Star. Please see your official finalist letter attached to this email." This was a true career highlight, to be named a Finalist and be presented in front of my colleagues at this prestigious event. While I didn’t bring home the top award it was truly and honour and I walked away head held high and full of love.

Jami is an advocate for sustainable Canadian travel and outdoor adventure. Her brand Adventure Awaits us not just a name, it is an invitation to explore the beautify of Canada.
