Whether it's a Chapter event or a national conference the feeling of comradery and the "TMAC Family" is unlike anything I've been a part of before.
Millions of people call themselves travel “experts”, but only a handful of travel media worldwide can truly be called trusted sources. In Canada, most of them belong to the Travel Media Association of Canada (TMAC). We cultivate relationships that result in relevant connections, comprehensive opportunities and successful outcomes. As an organization, we strive for inclusivity, openness and forward-thinking in the ever-changing travel industry environment.
My term was a challenging one, being right after the start of the pandemic, a devastating time for our whole industry. However with the leadership team we were able to forge ahead and help lay the foundation for a strong return post pandemic. Here are some of the projects I’m proud to have been a part of:

Jami Savage pretty well put her own work on hold to throw herself into the work of improving TMAC over the past two years. After being elected to the national board, she led the charge to completely update our governance policies and documents as she helped create, then chair the Governance Committee. She served on the membership committee and helped TMAC retain its membership and attract new members. Jami is always ready to call it as she sees it, identifying areas that need improvement, suggesting ways to achieve goals and is always, always prepared to do the lion's share of the work to achieve them. Most importantly, as she volunteered all those hours for TMAC, she always did so with respect and sensitivity to the well-being of others. Her approach to constructive, considerate volunteering is infectious, raising the overall level and quality of board engagement and improving the experience for all board and committee members.
