Our Mission

As a family we enjoy recreating outdoors and through this blog we get to share our passion for nature and adventures. We hope to share trips and adventures with families and help educate them on the benefits that recreating outdoors brings.

We hope to push ourselves outside our comfort zone regularly and challenge ourselves to seek out new places and new adventures all the time. Through this we know we will continue to learn and grow.

As parents it’s our goal that we will raise Environmental Stewards who will appreciate what Mother Nature has created for us and will protect it in the future.

  • The one that got away...
___
I bit off more than I could chew and the end of our trip didn’t go as planned. I was supposed to be spending our last night in Wales in the top room of the beautiful @rochcastle_pembrokeshire
____
Instead I was sick in bed for two days having to call and cancel our trip and sob as I missed out a night in 1000 year old castle.
____
I had to share this photo from @coolplacesuk to showcase this castle and share with you this incredible adventure that now has to wait for another day.
___
Sometimes things don’t always go as planned and sometimes you have to press pause and regroup. And that’s okay. #truthintravel
  • My kids can’t truly comprehend why today is such an important day. They’ve lived a life free from experiencing war, and no real context to relate the images they see presented to them.
___
This is exactly what Grandpa fought for. For my mom, for me, for them. Forever grateful. ❤️
  • #LestWeForget
___
My grandfather moved from Pontypridd to Canada when he was five. Her served in WW2 as an airforce mechanic, and my grandmother as a nurse.
___
Being back in the small town where he was from, honouring Remembrance Day is almost overwhelming. And I think that’s good, because we will never forget.
  • By far my most emotional adventure was to Big Pit Mines in South Wales.
____
As we walked the hallways towards the mine we searched the walls at what looked like familiar faces, perhaps even finding a photo of my great grandfather.
___
He left the mine almost 100 years ago with his 5 year old son and headed to Canada. Boys as young as 5 would start their mining career and it wasn’t a life he wanted for his son (my grandfather).
____
Emotionally exhausting after seeing the conditions that these men worked in, and trying to comprehend the lifestyle and why they had to leave was overwhelming. Especially once we were down in the actual mine.
___
More to come on this adventure...
  • Cue the cute little old lady walking by the pub...
___
Does it get anymore Instagram perfect than this? But the story, now that's where the magic comes in! I was standing in the centre of a town called Pontypridd, the same town where 98 years ago my grandfather was born.
___
I stood on the corner and took photos of three generations who had come back to see where their ancestors were from. A town that as a five-year-old he left (and never returned to) after his father didn't want him to have to work in the mine. (Children started at the mine as young as 5 years old.) A town that my Mom would long to come back and visit, and that I'd have the privilege of accompanying her on this trip.
___
Little old lady, Instagram perfect pub, and a family behind the camera sharing once in a lifetime experiences.
