It is the second largest and has the highest population of the 3 territories in Northern Canada.

It is bordered by the territories of Nunavut to the East, Yukon to the West, and the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan to the South.

Geographical features include Great Bear Lake, the largest lake entirely within Canada, and Great Slave Lake, the deepest body of water in North America.

In the winter, visitors can experience driving on ice roads that connect remote communities. This is a unique and thrilling experience, especially for those fascinated by extreme environments.

During the summer months, areas in the Northwest Territories experience nearly 24 hours of daylight. Allowing for long days of adventures and a unique experience of the “midnight sun.”

The Northwest Territories has 11 official languages, including English, French, and 9 indigenous languages.
